On 30th May 2026, Dr Nicholas Koh was conferred the rank of Knight Commander of Rizal (KCR) by the Supreme Council of the Order of the Knights of Rizal during the Knighthood and Chartering Ceremonies held at the Knights of Rizal International Headquarters in Port Area, Manila, Philippines.
The ceremony was presided over by the Supreme Commander Sir Emmanuel Franco Calairo, KGCR.
This meaningful recognition reflects his patriotic endeavours, noble aims, and sincere commitment to his own innate values as a Singaporean which were similar to the inspirations, ideas, values, patriotism and sense of nationalism of Dr. José Rizal, the National Hero of the modern Philippines.
As a lifetime member, Sir Nicholas Koh would carry forward the spirit of service, honour, and civic responsibility that the Order represents as in his nature and in service to communities and the societies at large in the global village.
This occasion was more than a formal ceremony. It was a proud and memorable milestone for Sir Nicholas Koh as he had been walking in his journey in life that embraced these similar values that he exuded in his own conduct in life, shaped by dedication, purpose, and a deep respect for the ideals of patriotism, honour, integrity and service to humanity.
The values exemplified by Lolo Jose Rizal transcend across this borderless world, regardless of nationality, creed, race, language or religion, that are based on justice and equality and that embodies a sense of love for mankind, country, family and friends.
As a Knight Commander of Rizal, Sir Nicholas Koh can be expected to uphold and practice these values that are innately imbibed within.
